Explicit CFT and the quantum exponential

Abstract
I will explain how to construct all abelian extensions of a real quadratic field using special values of Faddeev's quantum dilogarithm. I will give some simple proofs of their algebraicity and an idea of how Shimura reciprocity can be proved. This is based on joint work with Danylo Radchenko.
