Abstract
Let A_g be the moduli space over F_p of g-dimensional principally polarized abelian varieties and S_g be the supersingular locus of A_g.
Oort's conjecture asserts that when g ≥ 2, every geometric generic member in S_g has automorphism group {±1}. In this talk we shall discuss the progress of this problem, and sketch the proof of our result using supersingular EO strata, which confirm Oort’s conjecture when g is even and p is greater than 3, and g=4 and any p.
