Taxis-driven formation of hotspots in a cross-diffusion model for virus infection

Abstract: This talk addresses a three-component chemotaxis model which accounts for spatially heterogeneous dynamics of viral infection. In contrast to the classical Keller-Segel type systems, the considered attractant is produced in an inherently nonlinear mechanism. We develop an approach capable of detecting taxis-driven blow-up in this complex model, known as virus hotspot formation phenomena observed in biological experiments. This is joint work with Michael Winkler (Paderborn).

Short Bio: 陶有山,上海交通大学数学科学学院特聘教授。曾先后就读于南京大学、复旦大学、苏州大学。主要研究方向为偏微分方程,特别是趋化交叉扩散方程,已在数学期刊(其中包括:JEMS, PLMS, JFA, SIAP, SIMA, AIHPC, IP, NON , JMB, JNS)上发表论文90余篇, MR引用3700余次;2018-2021年连续四年入选科睿唯安“全球高被引科学家”。现担任数学期刊Nonlinear Analysis: RWA和EMS Surveys in Mathematical Sciences (EMSS) 的编委。
