Conference on PDEs Held by Department of Mathematics

Apr 19, 2016

On April 16th and 17th, the “Conference on Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations of Fractional Order” was held at Room 401 of the Administrative Building by the Department of Mathematics of SUSTech. Proposed by the CAS academician Professor Guo Boling, this conference was aimed to communicate recent advances and to exchange new ideas in the field of Partial Differential Equations of Fractional Order. The organizing committee comprised of five faculty members of Dept. of Mathematics, who are Prof. Tao TANG, Zhihong Jeff XIA and Xuefeng WANG, Associate Prof. Jingzhi LI, and Assistant Prof. Linlin SU.

At 8:30 am, the conference was inaugurated and Prof. Zhihong Jeff Xia, the Head of Dept. of Mathematics, made the opening remarks. He gave the participants an overview of the department and elaborated on its development, followed by Vice President Tao TANG’s address. With great expectations for the Department of Mathematics, Tao TANG expressed his hope for the participants to kindly introduce SUSTech and Dept. of Mathematics to a great many prominent talents.
