The Department of Mathematics at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) was founded in 2015 with the mission of conducting first-class research and mathematical education. The department offers bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. Current fulltime faculty members include one Chinese Academy of Sciences member, six National Talents Distinguished Scholars, and four Junior National Talents Distinguished Scholars. Almost all faculty members have had multiple years of teaching and research experience in top universities outside of China, and with a large percentage of them held tenured positions in the West. Research interests of the faculty members cover a broad array of Mathematics including Pure Mathematics, Computational and Applied Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, and Financial Mathematics.
The Department of Mathematics at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) invites applications for multiple postdoctoral positions in all areas of mathematics. Candidates should have a strong record and promise in research, and a commitment to excellence in teaching. A doctoral degree in mathematics or a closely related area is required at the time of appointment.
The postdoctoral position is a two-year appointment. Postdocs are expected to conduct vigorous research under the guidance of a tenure track faculty member in the department and assist with departmental teaching when needed. The teaching load is at most one course per year. Postdocs affiliated with the newly founded SUSTech International Center for Mathematics will enjoy a reduced teaching load.
Interested candidates should contact potential faculty mentor directly. Applications will be considered continuously until all positions are filled. Starting date can be negotiated.
