Abstract

I will explain some developments in the study of the log Chow ring of the moduli space of curves: tautological classes, piecewise polynomials, and the log DR cycle.


About the speaker

Prof. Rahul Pandharipande is currently a professor of mathematics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETH) and a member of the Academy of Europe. He is a leading expert in algebraic geometry and has received many academic honors and awards including Fellowships from the Sloan Foundation (1999), David and Lucile Packard Foundation (2000), Gulbenkian Foundation (2010), the Compositio Prize (2009), the Clay Research Award (2013), and the Infosys Prize (2013). He was a plenary speaker at the ICM 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, and was an invited speaker at the ICM 2002 in Beijing.
