Hausdorff dimensional theory in continued fractions vs Diophantine approximation.

Abstract

In this talk, we discuss some dimensional theory in continued fractions which are motivated from the classic theory in Diophantine approximation: Dirichlet's asympototic approximation theory and Dirichlet's uniform approximation theory. 


Short bio 
王保伟,华中科技大学数学与统计学院教授。研究方向为分形几何,动力系统、度量数论,主要从事分形几何与度量丢番图逼近的研究,在 Math. Ann., Adv. Math.和中国科学等国内外期刊发表论文 40 余篇,先后主持国家自然科学基金青年基金、面上项目和优秀青年项目,2013 入选教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”。
