Phase Field Modeling of Actomyosin Driven Cell Oscillations

Abstract

In this talk, we talk about a phase field modeling of acto-myosin driven cell oscillations. In this model, we combined the dynamics of actin and myosin with the shape transformations of cell membranes. A uniform phase field formulation is given. And we developed a 3D code for the simulations. This modeling reveals the potential of using phase field methods as an important tool for biologists.

王小强,男,1974年生, 2005年毕业于Pennsylvania State University,获理学博士学位,现为Florida State University科学计算系副教授,主要从事数学生物、大数据与数据挖掘、图像处理和高性能科学计算等研究,在《Journal of Computational Physics》、《Physica D》、《SIAM J. Math. Anal.》及《IEEE Transactions on Image Processing》等著名数学SCI期刊发表科研论文20余篇。
