Semi-implicit Galerkin Finite Element Method for Time-Dependent Nematic Liquid Crystal Flows

摘要:In this talk, we report a linearized semi-implicit finite element scheme for the nematic liquid crystal flows which are used to describe the time evolution of the materials under the influence of both the flow velocity and the microscopic orientation configurations of rod-like liquid crystal flows. Optimal temporal-spatial error estimates are derived without any restriction of time step by using the error splitting technique. Numerical results are provided to confirm the theoretical analysis.

安荣,现为温州大学数理学院教授,温州大学应用数学研究所副所长,民盟温州大学委员会副主委。2013年入选浙江省高校中青年学科带头人。本硕博均就读于西安交通大学,师从著名计算数学家李开泰教授,曾3次访问香港城市大学数学系。主持国家自然科学基金和浙江省基金各两项,获浙江省自然科学三等奖一项。目前为止,在Numerische Mathematik、Journal of Scientific Computing、Advances in Computational Mathematics、Applied Numerical Mathematics等期刊发表论文40余篇。
