Shape reconstructions by using plasmon resonances with enhanced sensitivity

Abstract

Plasmon technology is revolutionizing many industrial applications including biosensing, disease diagnosis, catalysis and molecular dynamics research, super-focusing and high-resolution imaging, and invisibility cloaking. In this talk, I present results on shape reconstructions of sub-wavelength objects from near field measurements in transverse electromagnetic scattering. This geometric inverse problem is notoriously ill-posed and challenging. We develop a novel reconstruction scheme of using plasmon resonances with significantly enhanced sensitivity and resolution. Both rigorous theoretical analysis and extensive numerical experiments are conducted to validate the promising features of our method.

郑光辉,湖南大学数学学院,教授,博士生导师。2012年博士毕业于兰州大学,曾先后访问巴黎高师数学系、香港城市大学、香港浸会大学数学系进行科研合作。主要从事偏微分方程反问题的理论及算法、不确定性量化、等离子共振、超分辨成像、隐形设计等方面的研究。相关研究成果发表在《Inverse Problems》、《Inverse Probl. Imag.》、《J. Math. Pures Appl.》、《SIAM J. Numer. Anal.》、《J. Differential Equations》、《Adv. Comput. Math.》、《ESAIM: Math. Model. Numer. Anal.》、《J. Comput. Phys.》、《Comput. Statist.》等杂志上。主持国家自然科学青年基金1项、湖南省面上项目1项和国家自然科学面上项目1项;获湖南省自然科学奖二等奖。
