Abstract: In this talk series, I shall report the recent progress of our study on acoustic and electromagnetic (EM) wave scattering from a generic inhomogeneous isotropic medium with a corner on its support. For the acoustic scattering, we sharply quantify the existing results in the literature on corner scattering. We also consider the applications of our results to invisibility cloaking on nonscattering interrogating waves and inverse scattering on penetrable shape determination. For the EM scattering, we show that the medium scatters every incident EM field, excluding a class of EM fields of very particular forms.
