[Math Department Invited Talk] Stability of planar rarefaction waves under periodic perturbation

Abstract: In this talk, I will first give a survey on the asymptotic stability of wave patterns like shock and rarefaction waves for viscous conservation laws. Then I'll focus our recent work on the stability of planar rarefaction wave for scalar viscous conservation law.
